Munich's Reign Ends in a Heart-Stopping 4:3 Thriller!

The 20th matchday in the German Bundesliga saw FC Bayern Munich secure a 4-3 win against promoted side Holstein Kiel. For a long time, it seemed as though the outcome was a foregone conclusion, with Jamal Musiala scoring for the Bayern in the 19th minute, followed by goals from Harry Kane in the 45th and 46th minutes and Serge Gnabry in the 54th. However, Kiel refused to give up and the Bayern’s eventual complacency allowed the visitors to score three late goals, with Finn Porath finding the net in the 62nd minute and Steven Skrzybski netting twice in the three minutes of added time.

The win sees Bayern maintain their lead at the top of the table, with a nine-point gap to second-placed Bayer Leverkusen. Kiel, meanwhile, remains at the bottom of the table, but is now two points ahead of the team in 18th place, Bochum, after the latter’s defeat to SC Freiburg.

The day’s other results saw Heidenheim lose 1-2 to Borussia Dortmund, St. Pauli draw 1-1 with Augsburg and Stuttgart fall to a 1-2 defeat against Mönchengladbach. The evening’s match between Union Berlin and RB Leipzig is yet to be played, as is the Sunday fixture between Frankfurt and Wolfsburg, while Leverkusen will face Hoffenheim on the same day. Bremen, meanwhile, had secured a 1-0 win over Mainz the previous evening.
