German Greens’ Co-Chairwomen, Katharina Dröge and Britta Haßelmann, have ruled out not continuing to jointly lead the parliamentary faction after the federal election.
In an interview with the Rheinische Post, Haßelmann stated, “It’s a cool role we have.” Dröge added, “It’s the most beautiful job there is.” When asked about their goals for the upcoming election, Haßelmann emphasized, “We will do everything to make the Greens as strong as possible. This is crucial for implementing the future-oriented policies that are important to us. Of course, we also have a right to shape the future.”
Regarding the possibility of a coalition with the Union, Haßelmann said, “All democratic forces must be capable of forming alliances. How could we otherwise genuinely represent the will of the voters? Naturally, democrats must engage in dialogue and seek consensus.
