Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has voiced his opinion on the European Union’s sanctions against Russia, stating that they are ineffective, but it is positive that US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose sanctions as well. In a recent interview with Kossuth Radio, Orbán emphasized that the US and the EU have different approaches to achieving peace.
According to Orbán, the US is seeking peace through negotiations, while the EU is focused on imposing sanctions. He noted that the EU’s sanctions have had a significant impact on the Hungarian economy, with a loss of 19.5 billion euros over the past three years. Orbán also expressed his disapproval of the decision by Ukraine to stop Russian gas deliveries through its territory, calling it “unacceptable”.
The Hungarian Prime Minister reiterated his threat to veto the extension of the EU’s sanctions against Russia, reiterating his stance on the issue.
