Bodyguard of 23 Years Nominated as Secret Service Director!

Washington D.C. – The United States Secret Service has a new director, according to a post on former President Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social. Sean Curran, a long-time employee of the agency, is set to take on the role, Trump announced.

The President highlighted Curran’s bravery, saying the agent “demonstrated his fearlessness and bravery” when he risked his life to protect Trump during a failed assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, in the summer of 2024.

Curran has been serving with the Secret Service since 2001, previously responsible for the security of presidential residences during Trump’s first term from 2017 to 2021 and later protecting the Trump family.

The United States Secret Service is a diverse agency, with responsibilities that extend beyond its public image as the primary protector of the U.S. President. Unlike the Director of the FBI, the Secret Service chief does not require Senate confirmation.

Curran will take over the position from Ronald Rowe, who served as acting director since Kimberly Cheatle’s resignation in July 2024. Cheatle stepped down after a failed assassination attempt on Trump, in which a gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire on the former President in Pennsylvania. Trump was injured in the ear, and a man was killed, with two others sustaining injuries.
