Can the Opposition Catch Up?

According to a survey by the Insa Institute, published in the Thursday edition of the “Bild” newspaper, the CDU continues to hold a clear lead in the Schleswig-Holstein state election, should it take place on a Sunday. The poll, which surveyed 1,000 participants online from January 13 to 20, shows the CDU at 39 percent, a one percentage point decrease from the previous survey in November 2024. The SPD, on the other hand, gains a percentage point, reaching 16 percent. The AfD increases by two percentage points, now at 14 percent. The CDU’s coalition partner, the Greens, lose three percentage points and now stand at 13 percent. The SSW maintains its six percent. The FDP, however, falls below the five percent threshold, dropping two points to a mere four percent.
