German Green party’s chancellor candidate, Robert Habeck, can envision working with Olaf Scholz (SPD) in a government again. In response to the question of whether he would work with Scholz again, Habeck told the Bayern media group’s publications, “Yes, we worked well together.”
Even with the Free Democratic Party (FDP), Habeck is willing to consider further cooperation, but with a caveat: “In principle, yes, but not with this FDP. Agreements were broken, party tactics dominated. In government, one must serve the country, not the dictates of one’s own party.”
Cooperation with the Union is also rejected, with the argument that it would not work with “these Greens”, a reference to the German Greens.
