The Unstoppable Rise Continues!

As the trading week drew to a close, the Dax continued its upward trend, notching a new all-time high for the second consecutive day. At the Xetra closing, the index stood at 20,903.4 points, a record high at the end of a trading day. The highest Dax index level of all time was reached at 16:02, at 20,924.5 points. On a daily basis, the German benchmark index gained 1.2 percent, and on a weekly basis, it rose by 3.4 percent.

Most of the values in the Dax were in the positive on Friday, with Siemens Energy and Heidelberg Materials being the most sought-after, both of which gained around three percent. Siemens, Daimler Truck, and Airbus followed closely, while the few values in the red included Sartorius, Merck, and Mercedes Benz, which were only briefly in the negative near the end of the trading day.

The European common currency was slightly weaker on Friday afternoon, with one euro costing 1.0298 US dollars, and one dollar being available for 0.9711 euros.
