Berlin's Mayor Hails Crisis Teams in Face of Deadly Disease Outbreak!

Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Kai Wegner of the CDU, praises the crisis management following the outbreak of the foot-and-mouth disease in a Brandenburg business. Wegner told the “Rheinische Post” (Saturday edition) at the “Green Week” in Berlin, “We are facing great challenges with the foot-and-mouth disease. But one also notes that the crisis management staves between the federal government, Brandenburg, and Berlin, and all those involved, are functioning.” Wegner added, “Now we hope to get the foot-and-mouth disease under control as quickly as possible.”

Cattle, goats, and sheep are therefore not on the exhibition grounds. Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir of the Greens had announced on Friday morning that a second suspected case in the Barnim district had not been confirmed.
