During a joint press conference in Warsaw, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the alleged Russian sabotage acts that reportedly took place on Polish soil after the start of the war in Ukraine.
Tusk accused Russia of planning terrorist attacks against airlines, stating that the Polish authorities had reason to make such claims, but did not provide further details. “I can confirm that the fears are justified that Russia planned acts of air terror, not only against Poland, but also against airlines from around the world” Tusk said.
He also emphasized that “Poland plays a key role in Europe in combating sabotage acts and diversionary maneuvers, which Russia organizes not only on Polish territory, but also globally.” Tusk added that “sabotage acts, various forms of war that Russia has declared to the entire civilized world, require common actions.”
In response to Tusk’s allegations, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitri Peskov characterized the accusations as “another unfounded claim.” “Poland is known for making such unfounded claims and often even tries to take the lead in this area compared to other European countries” Peskov said in a statement to the press on Thursday.
