At Least 2 Killed in Grisly Stabbing Spree

At least two people were killed in a stabbing attack at a school in northeastern Slovakia on Thursday, according to police, who identified the attacker as an 18-year-old student who was taken into custody.

The incident occurred just before 1 pm at a gymnasium in the town of Spisska Stara Ves. The attacker is reported to have attacked a teacher and two students with a knife. No information was initially provided on the number of injured or the motive of the perpetrator.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico reacted with dismay to the event, describing it as difficult to understand. At the same time, he called for restraint, saying, “I advise every overzealous person to keep quiet, politically.
