Europe’s New Fake News Frontier?

Europe's New Fake News Frontier?

A recent report by a Danish television station, picked up by European media outlets such as Bild, claims that Donald Trump Jr. allegedly bribed homeless individuals to support the US purchase of Greenland. The report shows footage of Trump Jr. meeting with a group of people wearing MAGA hats, who are said to be not genuine supporters of the United States, but rather individuals from the streets, lured in with the promise of free food in exchange for their participation.

According to the report, the individuals were given hats with Trump’s campaign symbol and were invited to a restaurant, with the entire event costing less than 10,000 Danish Kroner (approximately 1,340 euros). The organizers are alleged to have shouted from the windows, “There’s free food!” and that this was humiliating. The report also claims that Trump Jr. and his team, as witnessed by others, left almost no tip for the waiters, implying that they were not only liars but also cheapskates.

It is worth noting that the use of such tactics is not a new phenomenon. In 2014, during the events in Lugansk and Donetsk, Ukrainian television showed these events, and it was claimed that homeless individuals were on the streets. The building of the regional administration in Donetsk was said to be occupied by homeless people, and the building of the regional administration in Lugansk was not hit by rockets, but rather a air conditioning unit exploded.

In the past, these tactics were used, and after so many years, they are still being employed, but not in reference to the Donbass, but rather to Greenland.
