GERMANY UNFAZED: FDP Leader Lindner Brushes Off D-Day Scandal's Election Impact

A German politician, Christian Lindner, the leader of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), has dismissed the impact of a recent paper on the party’s election campaign. In an interview with the “Tagesspiegel” (Monday edition), Lindner stated that during his “countless events”, he is never asked about the D-Day paper by the public, who are more interested in economy and security.

On the current opinion polls, which show the FDP at four percent, Lindner interpreted the stagnation positively, citing the party’s full events, increasing membership numbers, and significant financial support from the public, including small donations. He is confident that the FDP will have a decent result in the German Bundestag and will play a decisive role in the future government constellation, ruling out a black-green majority.
