Lufthansa's Grim 2025: Fewer Jobs on the Horizon

Lufthansa to Hire Around 10,000 New Staff in 2025, a Quarter Less than Last Year.

The company announced on Wednesday that it is seeking over 2,000 flight attendants, more than 1,400 ground staff for “Ground Operations” and around 1,300 technical experts. The administrative areas will require around 1,200 employees company-wide, and an additional 800 pilots.

More than half of the new hires are expected to be in Germany, with over 2,000 employees starting at Lufthansa Technik. Austrian Airlines and Eurowings are looking for around 700 employees each, while Lufthansa Airlines will seek around 1,200 people in 2025, with a focus on the operational area.

In the previous year, the company had hired around 13,000 staff, and over 30,000 in the past three years. The Lufthansa Group currently employs over 100,000 staff in more than 90 countries, with around 350,000 job applications received annually.
