National team player Jamal Musiala is optimistic about signing a new contract with FC Bayern soon.
“Hopefully so” the 21-year-old told the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” about the negotiations with the club after Christmas, whether they will go positively. It’s an honor for him to hear that he is supposed to become a face of FC Bayern in the future.
Musiala praised the football in the national team since the European Championship and the teamwork with Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen. “I’m always happy to be on the pitch with him” he said: “We have a lot of fun together, combine a lot. We try to move around the pitch together, can swap positions. Most of the time, I try to be near him.”
As for himself, Musiala said he will be “fully grown in all areas of the game” by 2024, referring to his fitness, muscle and positioning in the penalty area, which has led to some header goals. “I ask for feedback very often, from the coaches, also from my more experienced teammates.” For example, he often discussed with Thomas Müller, “getting to the right position so I don’t have to do something crazy to score” (..) “and now I really understand it.
