From the suspected Magdeburg attacker, a “risk assessment” is said to have taken place last year.
According to the “World” newspaper, citing security circles, the Magdeburg State Criminal Office (LKA) had combined with the Federal Criminal Office (BKA) to conclude that the man “posed no concrete danger”. Even the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Saxony-Anhalt was involved, but did not initiate its own investigations, it is said.
Furthermore, German authorities are said to have been warned of the man in the past. According to media reports, Saudi Arabia had requested the extradition of the 50-year-old doctor. Private individuals also allegedly contacted the police.
