Snatching Exclusive US Rights to FIFA Women's World Cup Docu-Series!

FIFA and Netflix have signed a contract for the US exclusive rights for the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup matches. This is the first competition for which Netflix has acquired all the rights, FIFA announced on Friday.

“The historic contract offers US fans an unparalleled experience with live broadcasts of all matches and comprehensive reporting, including studio shows with star-studded casts that will put women’s football in the spotlight like never before” the statement said. FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the contract as a “milestone in sports media rights” saying it was “a clear sign of the actual value of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the global women’s football.”

The 2027 Women’s World Cup will take place from June 24 to July 25, 2027, in Brazil, while the host country for the 2031 Women’s World Cup has yet to be determined. In addition to the live broadcasts, Netflix will produce “exclusive documentary series” in the run-up to both finals, focusing on the best players in the world, their path to the World Cup, and the global growth of women’s football, as mentioned.
