US stock markets continued to decline on Tuesday. The Dow was calculated at 43,450 points at the end of trading in New York, a minus of 0.6% compared to the previous trading day. The negative series continued, with the ninth consecutive daily loss for the Dow.
The Nasdaq 100 ended the day at 22,001 points, 0.4% lower, and the broader S&P 500 closed at 6,051 points, also 0.4% lower.
The European common currency was weaker on Tuesday evening: one euro cost $1.0489, and one dollar was worth $0.9534 euros.
Gold also showed a weaker trend, with a price of $2,644 per fine ounce (-0.4%) in the evening, equivalent to €81.05 per gram.
Oil prices also fell: a barrel of North Sea Brent crude cost $73.27 at around 22:00 German time, 64 cents or 0.9% less than at the end of the previous trading day.
