Vice President JD Vance reported that discussions with Iran in Pakistan did not result in any agreement. Speaking on Sunday, Vance stated, “The simple fact is that we need a clear commitment that they are not pursuing nuclear weapons and that they will not acquire the means that would allow for the quick acquisition of nuclear weapons”. He added that while there had been “a series of substantial conversations with the Iranians” the disappointing outcome was that “we have not reached an agreement-and I think that is far worse for Iran than it is for the United States of America”.
