US Blockade of Strait of Hormuz Forced 48 Ships to Turn Around

The US Central Command reported on Saturday that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has reportedly forced 48 vessels to reverse course over the past 20 days. Within the last 20 hours alone, three ships were reportedly diverted. The US continues to prevent ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports. During a statement in Florida, US President Donald Trump reaffirmed that the blockade will remain in place until an agreement is reached with Iran to conclude the war. Trump asserted that while the US is not playing games, the actions taken were necessary because the US maintains that Iran has used the strait as a weapon, leading him to replicate the closure. Meanwhile, Iran views the blockade itself as a violation of a ceasefire.

A separate incident report detailed the situation in Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced on Saturday that 2,659 people have died due to Israeli attacks since March 2nd. Specifically, 73 people were killed and 163 injured since April 30th. Despite an agreed-upon ceasefire, both sides continue to accuse each other of regularly violating the terms of the truce and initiating minor attacks.
