The latest Insa poll shows that the Union has erased its lag behind the AfD in voter favourability. In the current Sunday trend-collected weekly for the “Bild am Sonntag”-the CDU/CSU are tied for first place with the right‑wing party for the first time since 13 September.
If the next Sunday were a federal election, the data suggest that both the Union and the AfD would each secure 26 % of the vote. The AfD has held steady over the past weeks, while the Union has gained one percentage point.
The SPD also improves. At 16 %-up by one point-it matches the support it had at the end of June 2025. The FDP, however, falls from 4 % to 3 %, putting it further from the 5 % threshold.
All other parties retain their previous week’s numbers: the Greens remain at 11 %, the Left at 10 %, the BSW stays at 4 % (and would still fall short of the threshold), and other parties are at 4 % (down by one point).
In total, Insa surveyed 1,204 individuals between 26 and 30 January 2026 for the Sunday trend.
