Union Clinches Lead Ahead of AfD in Baden-Württemberg Election Polls, SPD Slumps

Just before the state election in Baden-Württemberg on Sunday, the Union is still ahead of the AfD in nationwide polling. The new “Sunday Trend” published weekly by the research institute Insa for Bild am Sonntag, puts the CDU/CSU at 26 percent again, while the AfD remains at 25 percent, unchanged from the previous week. The SPD has slipped one point and now sits at 15 percent.

Both the Left and the FDP each gain a point, bringing them to 11 percent and 4 percent respectively. The Greens and the BSW stay steady at 11 percent and 3 percent. Other parties would capture 5 percent, down one point.

Insa conducted the survey of 1,200 people from March 2 to March 6.
