Ukraine Offers Germany Long Range Drones to Fill Gap Left by US Missile Withdrawal

In response to the U.S. government’s decision not to station Tomahawk missiles in Germany as a deterrent against Russia, the Ukrainian delegation suggested supplying long-range drones and missiles as a suitable alternative.

According to Alonya Getmanchuk, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the NATO mission in Brussels, Ukraine stated that it possesses the ability to bolster NATO’s capacity for conducting deep precision strikes and, at a point, fill structural deficiencies within the alliance. She added that this capability includes the type of precision striking ability that had been anticipated from the Americans. She suggested that if NATO countries like Germany should seek such capabilities in the future, they could consider offering their own expertise and effective weaponry: long-range drones and missiles.

Getmanchuk further emphasized that Ukraine has “a lot to offer” citing the country’s extensive experience in executing deep precision strikes within enemy territory. She highlighted that Ukraine has gained significant learning through its involvement in military precision strikes and possesses valuable expertise, offering “unique solutions” not only for drone defense but also for conducting highly accurate strikes.
