Trump Threatens Iran With Massive Armada Heading Toward Tehran

Donald Trump has warned Iran that the United States is preparing a “massive armada” to apply military pressure on Tehran. The president said that the fleet, spearheaded by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, is larger than the one previously dispatched to Venezuela, and it is moving “with speed, great power, and determination”.

He urged the Iranian leadership to quickly return to the negotiating table in order to reach an agreement that is “fair and just” and that requires the relinquishment of nuclear weapons. Trump emphasized that time is running out and stressed the urgency of the situation.

Trump also reminded that Tehran had previously failed to reach an accord, which led to the U.S. “Operation Midnight Hammer”. He warned that a subsequent strike would be even more devastating if Iran does not comply. In addition, he referenced the massive protests that erupted in Iran at the turn of the year, during which human‑rights organizations reported that hundreds of demonstrators were killed by security forces.
