Trump Says Iran War Nearly Over

President Donald Trump suggested that the war in the Middle East could soon end. “I think the war is practically over” he told CBS, adding that the United States is “way ahead of schedule”. When asked whether the war could finish this week, Trump answered “No” but said it would “end soon”.

At the same time he warned Iran that the U.S. would unleash “death, fire and wrath” if the country continued to disrupt oil transport in the region. On Truth Social he warned that any action by Iran to stop oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz would provoke the United States to strike it “twenty times harder” than previously. He went on to say that the U.S. would target easily destroyable objectives that would effectively make it impossible for Iran to rebuild as a nation – “death, fire and wrath will break over them – but I hope and pray that this does not happen”.

Earlier, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard had announced that Arab and European states could begin transiting the strait from Tuesday onward, provided they expelled U.S. and Israeli ambassadors from their sovereign territory.
