Telekom Debuts First AI-Enabled Glasses at Global Mobile Forum

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the world’s largest mobile‑communications trade show, the Deutsche Telekom plans to unveil a new AI‑powered glasses prototype. This announcement comes from the “Handelsblatt” Thursday edition, which cites the company’s presentation materials.

When asked by the paper, a Telekom spokesperson confirmed the contents of the documents. “What we will show at the MWC is a functioning prototype with a live demo” she said. She added that the device is a design study, not a commercial product launch. The goal is to demonstrate what is technically possible with existing hardware and artificial‑intelligence infrastructure.

The project’s partner is Ray‑Neo, a Chinese manufacturer and subsidiary of TCL. According to the newspaper, the glasses are based on the currently available Ray‑Neo X3 Pro model, which is sold worldwide for around $1,299. The Telekom traditionally uses the trade show to introduce new devices and platforms, and this week’s MWC is set to begin on Monday in Barcelona.
