Selenskyj Welcomes German Dignitaries Frei and BND Chief Jäger

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hosted meetings with Chancellor Thorsten Frei and the Director of the Federal Intelligence Service, Martin Jäger. Addressing the massive drone attack carried out by Russia, Zelenskyy stated that the visit represented a “significant signal of support”.

During the discussions, the leaders focused on how to accelerate air defense agreements with the goal of protecting Ukraine from such acts of terrorism. Zelenskyy emphasized Germany’s repeated role in strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses, stating, “We hope for a similar leadership role in this effort”.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the drone agreement previously proposed by Ukraine to Germany. The Ukrainian President reaffirmed Kyiv’s readiness to strengthen those who have already supported the country. He stressed that it would be “fair to open all negotiation blocks for Ukraine-we have met all the requirements”. Zelenskyy concluded by noting that they must capitalize on the opportunity presented in the coming month. This discussion came against the backdrop of Russia’s recent attacks, during which Zelenskyy reported that the Russians deployed 1,567 drones and 56 different types of missiles against Ukraine.
