Federal Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder (CDU) stated that Germany is not facing a shortage of kerosene, noting that the country has a price problem but no supply problem. Speaking to “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” on Tuesday, Schnieder confirmed that there are sufficient refineries capable of producing the necessary fuel. However, he cautioned that the situation in the Far East is different and this regional difference could impact flight availability and associated costs. When questioned about travelers potentially choosing domestic destinations, such as Rügen over Bali, Schnieder responded by saying that “it is wonderfully possible to take a vacation domestically, even in my home area of the Eifel”. Nevertheless, he explicitly clarified that as the Minister of Transport, he will not be issuing travel recommendations.
