FC Schalke 04 secured their return to the German Bundesliga, the top professional league, following a 1-0 victory against Fortuna Düsseldorf. This win, achieved in the afternoon match of Matchday 32, confirmed that the ‘Königsblauen’ had clinched promotion.
The decisive goal came from Kenan Karaman in the 15th minute. Receiving the ball near the edge of the penalty area from a deflected pass by Adil Aouchiche, Karaman curled the shot into the far corner, leaving Düsseldorf’s goalkeeper, Florian Kastenmeier, unable to save it.

Although Düsseldorf increased the pressure in the second half, the Schalke defense held firm. Despite several commendable saves from Kastenmeier, the visiting side could not threaten the Schalke lead. The home team adeptly managed their narrow advantage, limiting clear-cut chances for their opponents.
With this victory, Schalke concludes an successful season and marks their return to the highest German league after spending two seasons in the 2. Bundesliga. For Düsseldorf, however, the challenge now lies in securing their place in the league. Under coach Alexander Ende, the team must earn points in the final two matches to avoid direct relegation.
