The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Federation’s military forces began a three-day nuclear weapons drill on Tuesday. This exercise, scheduled from May 19th to May 21st, 2026, is designed to prepare and test the readiness and deployment of nuclear weapons in conditions simulating an act of aggression.
Several key military components are taking part in the exercise. These include the Strategic Rocket Troops, the Northern and Pacific Fleets, the Air Force Command, and elements from the Leningrad and Central Military Districts.
Furthermore, the exercise is taking place at a time when the Russian armed forces had already started practicing in Belarus the previous day. In Belarus, where Russian tactical nuclear weapons are stationed, the military forces from both nations are conducting joint drills.
