Pahlavi Urges West Greater Action Against Iranian Regime After Stalemate Diplomacy

Reza Pahlavi, the Iranian exile political figure and son of the deposed Shah, has publicly called upon Western democracies to increase their efforts and engagement regarding the situation in Iran. Speaking to journalists in Berlin on Thursday, he criticized how international media outlets focus on reports of negotiations, ceasefires, and diplomatic agreements, while overlooking the actual conditions on the ground. He asserted that the current situation represents “a revolt of an entire generation, the most profound uprising in Iran since 1979”.

According to Pahlavi, once legitimacy declines, power begins to crumble. He argues that the question is no longer whether change will occur-he insists that change is already underway. Instead, he questioned the international community, asking how many Iranians will lose their lives while the collective body of Western democracies remains inactive. He claimed that atrocities continue to happen, yet the world remains unaware because the regime has blocked internet access and silenced witnesses.

Pahlavi is currently in Berlin for political talks. However, according to government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius, meetings with him are not planned. The German government reportedly stated that it “sees no reason to engage in dialogue with him” maintaining that the current point of contact for Iran remains the regime itself.
