Müller Demands Targeted Relief After Failing Union Initiative

Sepp Müller, the CDU’s deputy chair, stated that following the failure of the “relief premium” stimulus, the party advocates for more targeted forms of financial support. Speaking to T-Online, Müller emphasized that any relief funds must be directed precisely to the areas experiencing the most urgent need, arguing that the Union aims to strengthen those sectors that are critical to keeping the country functioning.

He specifically pointed out that commuters require noticeable financial relief, suggesting potential solutions such as a dedicated mobility premium or an increased commuter allowance. Furthermore, Müller proposed that low and middle incomes could benefit from direct payout mechanisms.

Müller also highlighted the growing pressure on various small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly the haulage and coach transport sectors. According to him, these businesses urgently require tailored support to safeguard jobs and secure their economic stability.
