KSC Secures Late Draw Against Dresden in 3-3 Thriller

On the final day of the 25th round of the 2. Bundesliga, Karlsruher SC played a 3-3 draw against Dynamo Dresden, despite falling behind on multiple occasions.

Dynamo opened the scoring inside the third minute when Niklas Hauptmann found the back of the net, taking advantage of a shaky performance from KSC’s goalkeeper Robin Himmelmann, who was deputising for the suspended Hans Christian Bernat. Though the visitors dominated possession and had a higher pass‑completion rate afterward, Karlsruher equalised in the 23rd minute when Marvin Wanitzek calmly converted a penalty. Two minutes later, Ben Bobzien restored Dresden’s lead, and just before halftime Niklas Hauptmann struck again from a counter‑attack, giving Dresden a clear half‑time advantage.

After the break, the home side gradually regained control. In the 68th minute, Ben Farhat added a deserved late goal. KSC pressed hard for an equaliser, and while they managed to keep a narrow lead into stoppage time, another penalty penalty was awarded. Wanitzek again stepped up and scored, sealing the 3-3 result for both teams.

With the match finished, Dresden remain 14th in the table, having collected as many points in the second half of the season as they did in the first. Karlsruher stay in eighth place. For the upcoming Saturday, KSC will travel to Kaiserslautern, while Dresden face Preußen Münster at the same time. In the parallel matches on Sunday afternoon, Preußen Münster lost 1-2 to Hertha BSC, and Hannover 96 fell 1-2 to SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
