During the final matchday of the 2. Bundesliga, Karlsruher SC secured a 3-1 victory over 1. FC Magdeburg.
In the 20th minute, Louey Ben Farhat opened the scoring for the hosts. After a defensive error by Marvin Wanitzek, who had mis‑passed from Jean Hugonet, Ben Farhat slotted the ball from 14 metres into the left corner.
Just after the half‑time break, Ben Farhat added a second goal in the 53rd minute. He received a pass from Dzenis Burnic inside the box and finished into the right corner.
Magdeburg responded with a late equaliser. In the 66th minute, Dariusz Stalmach tapped in a counter‑attack that began with a double pass involving Baris Atik.
The hosts reclaimed the lead in the 87th minute when Marvin Wanitzek capitalised on a rebound off goalkeeper Dominik Reimann to thread the ball beneath the crossbar.
The win moved Karlsruher up to eighth place, while 1. FC Magdeburg slumped to second‑to‑last.
Magdeburg will face Elversberg on Friday, whereas Karlsruher will challenge Dynamo Dresden on Sunday.
Other Sunday afternoon matches ended with Eintracht Braunschweig losing 1-2 to Preußen Münster and Hertha BSC defeating 1. FC Nürnberg 2-1.
