Krösche Denies Rumors of Leaving Eintracht Frankfurt

Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director, dismissed speculation that he would leave the club. “I have a contract – everything else is irrelevant” he told Der Spiegel. “Let’s stick to the facts: we have an exciting squad, I feel comfortable here, and I cannot and will not comment on every rumor”.

Krösche has been at Frankfurt since 2022, a period during which the club qualified for the Champions League for the first time. He has also attracted attention for selling the club’s three leading forwards-Randal Kolo Muani to PSG for €95 million, Omar Marmoush to Manchester City for €75 million, and Hugo Ekitiké to Liverpool for €95 million.

Following criticism from board chief Axel Hellmann, rumours surfaced that Krösche wanted to depart. “It’s normal to sometimes question things critically” he replied. Frankfurt has struggled against expectations this Bundesliga season, and head coach Dino Toppmöller was forced to leave in January.

Krösche also pointed out problems in German youth development. “We’ve been prioritising the wrong things for a decade” he explained. He believes this has left a scarcity of world‑class full‑backs, centre‑backs, wingers, forwards, and even goalkeepers. “German football needs a rethink. As clubs we are to blame for ignoring these developmental gaps and training players poorly”.
