The British monarch, King Charles III, has turned the matter over to the legal system following the arrest of his brother, Andrew Mountbatten‑Windsor, in connection with the Epstein case. In a statement issued Thursday afternoon, the king said, “I have taken note of the news about Andrew Mountbatten‑Windsor and the alleged abuse of power with great concern”. He added that an “extensive, fair and proper process” will now ensue, during which the appropriate authorities will investigate the matter appropriately. The king also affirmed, “As I have said before, they have our full and unrestricted support and cooperation”.
He emphasized that “the law must take its course”. While the proceedings continue, he said it would be inappropriate for him to comment further on the issue. In the meantime, he and his family will continue to fulfill their duties and service to all.
