Germany Launches Nationwide Raid on Alleged Right‑Wing Terror Group ‘Last Defense Wave’

On Tuesday morning, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office carried out additional raids on alleged members of the far‑right extremist group “Last Defence Wave” in several German states. The operations took place in 16 locations across Mecklenburg‑Western Pomerania, North Rhine‑Westphalia, Saxony, Saxony‑Anhalt and Schleswig‑Holstein, targeting a total of ten suspects, the Karlsruhe office said.

The accused are alleged to belong to the “Last Defence Wave” association, which is claimed to have formed between April and December 2024. One suspect is also charged with leading the group, while two others are under investigation for violent assault against alleged pedophiles.

Several of the group’s suspected members are already on trial. No new arrests were made during the Tuesday raids. The searches were intended to substantiate the existing suspicions, the authorities said. Officers from the Federal Criminal Police Office and local police forces carried out the sweeps.
