The income gap between people over 65 and the overall population in Germany is widening. According to the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ), which cites recent data from the Federal Statistical Office, the difference in disposable annual income for the over‑65 group compared with the median income of the entire society has grown markedly. In 2024 the gap stood at roughly €3,619, and it rose to an average of about €4,066 by 2025.
