In light of the war in Iran, the German Police Federation (GdP) has warned that German officers are facing a heightened threat.
Chairman Jochen Kopelke told the “Rheinische Post” on Tuesday that German police working in foreign missions, at German embassies, and even within the German republic itself should now anticipate increased danger. He emphasized that police officers are on high alert and prepared for such risks.
Kopelke further explained that international conflicts directly affect German policing and impact daily operations. He added that the Middle East escalation will be felt both online and on the streets. Should the German federal government become actively involved in the conflict, he warned, Europe could see a drastic surge in danger for police officers.
