Bundestag president Julia Klöckner (CDU) will announce a date by mid‑March for convening the Federal Assembly in 2027.
A Bundestag spokesperson told “Bild” that the choice of date allows the Bundestag and the state parliaments enough time to plan the election that follows.
Traditionally, the election is scheduled between 30 days and eight weeks before the end of the current federal president’s term.
