German Federal Government Welcomes Syrian‑Kurdish Agreement to Foster Peaceful Integration and Stable, Inclusive Syria

The German government welcomed the agreement reached on Friday between the Syrian government and the Greek alliance Syria’s “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) on a military and civilian integration.
A spokesperson at the Foreign Office said the peaceful integration of the SDF into state institutions was a crucial step toward a unified, inclusive Syria, and a necessary precondition for lasting stability and economic recovery. “Germany remains ready to accompany and support this integration process together with our international partners” she added.

The accord, achieved after months of hostilities, calls for a cease‑fire and the immediate withdrawal of combat troops from front lines. Kurdish fighters will form their own brigade within the national army, while internal security forces will be stationed in two cities that had previously been under SDF control.
