Bundestag President Julia Klöckner (CDU) will be in Estonia and Lithuania from 8 to 10 April. Her talks will focus on the bilateral relationship, parliamentary cooperation and the security situation in the Baltics, the Bundestag administration said on Thursday. Digitalisation and cyber‑security will also feature on the agenda.
In Estonia she will meet Parliament President Lauri Hussar and Prime Minister Kristen Michal. In Lithuania she is scheduled to meet Parliament President Juozas Olekas, President Gitanas Nausėda and Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys.
Klöckner will also address the Lithuanian Parliament and visit the Lithuanian Brigade of the German Army. She intends to learn about the Bundeswehr’s overseas deployments and to get a sense of how soldiers and their families are stationed there.
