Starting on July 1, 2026, the monthly allowances for the 630 members of the German Bundestag will rise considerably. According to the Bild Saturday edition, salaries will increase by 4.2 %, which comes to an additional €497 per month. This figure is derived from the newest wage‑development data released by the Federal Statistical Office.

For the parliamentarians, this means that the taxable amounts that have previously stood at €11,833.47 per month will jump to roughly €12,330 after the year‑midpoint. The increase marks the third significant raise of the allowances since 2022. In the previous year, the pay had been raised by 5.4 %, and in 2023 it rose by six %.
