Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig (SPD) has called for effective reliefs to address the high costs of gasoline and natural gas. Speaking to the “Rheinische Post” on Saturday, the SPD politician stated that the elevated fuel prices represent a noticeable burden on numerous families and commuters who rely on their vehicles for daily life. She added that it has become apparent how urgently consumers need support, as travel to work and trips for the Easter holiday are increasingly becoming a financial concern.
Hubig emphasized the necessity of implementing immediately effective measures, suggesting an adjustable price cap to prevent extreme fluctuations at the gas pump. Furthermore, she voiced her support for Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil’s (SPD) suggestion to focus directly on consumer needs. According to Hubig, mobility must remain reliable and affordable, even during difficult economic times.
