Officials of the EU Commission have warned about the humanitarian fallout from the warlike tactics employed by Israel and the United States in Iran. This comes from confidential diplomatic correspondence that the “Spiegel” and the ARD‑magazine “Report Mainz” have reported.
According to the documents, the humanitarian aid department’s officers presented their concerns on Wednesday in Brussels during a meeting with European diplomats. In the meeting minutes the assessment is quoted word for word: “The airstrikes were not precise, hit densely populated areas, and the number of civilian casualties-schools and health facilities-has been rising”.
The airstrikes on Iran have further sharpened an already volatile socio‑economic situation, the correspondence adds.
