Employers Praise Health System Cuts As Minister's Reforms Signal Fiscal Relief

Rainer Dulger, the president of the employers’ association BDA, praised the reforms announced by Health Minister Nina Warken (CDU) aimed at improving the financial situation of statutory health insurance funds. Speaking to “T-Online” on Tuesday, Dulger stated that it is a significant step that Federal Health Minister Nina Warken intends to implement a large portion of the suggestions made by the Health Finance Commission. He stressed that it is crucial to address the rapidly increasing expenses of the health insurance funds, noting that this is the only way to prevent further increases in contribution rates. Dulger added that it is positive that the federal government is pushing this forward. He further emphasized the need for the courage to fully implement the 20 billion euros in potential savings outlined in the reform package, which he believes could even lead to a reduction in health insurance contributions.
