Citizens Demand Triple Digits for Tax Relief to Feel It

A recent survey conducted by the polling institute Forsa indicates that most citizens believe they require a noticeable tax reduction of at least a few hundred Euros per month to feel the effect. The report, commissioned by RTL and ntv, reveals specific thresholds for perceived relief.

According to the poll, 38% of respondents state that they would only consider a reduction significant starting at €100 per month. An additional 31% cited €250 as their required minimum. Furthermore, 19% feel that tax relief must exceed €250 monthly to be genuinely noticeable, while only 5% found the €50 mark to be sufficient.

A distinct divide emerged based on political affiliation. Supporters of the CDU/CSU, the SPD, and the Green Party generally believed that €100 per month was enough to register a noticeable effect. In contrast, followers of the AfD expect substantially higher amounts. In fact, four out of ten AfD supporters only mentioned feeling a real impact with reductions greater than €250 monthly.

However, the survey found little noticeable difference in views relating to geography or income bracket. Forsa conducted the poll by questioning 1,002 individuals on April 30th and May 4th.
