Sepp Müller, the CDU Group Leader for Saxony-Anhalt in the Bundestag, has responded to the local party’s unfavorable polling numbers with a declaration of resolve. Speaking to the news portal T-Online, Müller stated that the CDU is preparing to fight for every single vote “with all strength”.
He emphasized that the party’s direction is clear. Müller argued that while the AfD addresses complex issues only with simple solutions, the CDU possesses a genuine framework for governing and creating change. According to him, voters will ultimately be persuaded by this vision, asserting, “The people in Saxony-Anhalt want stability and reliability”.
This comes as the German state moves four months closer to the regional election. Current polling data from the Infratest institute shows the AfD considerably ahead, registering 41 percent, compared to the CDU’s 26 percent.
