CDU Demands Swift Crackdown on Iranian Terror Networks Threatening Germany

Marc Henrichmann, the chairman of the Parliamentary Control Committee in the Bundestag and a member of the CDU, warned that Germany faces potential coordinated attacks planned by Iran. Speaking to the “Tagesspiegel” (Friday edition), Henrichmann stated that such plans are unfortunately not unexpected. He noted that Iranian activity within Germany has been ongoing for some time, including efforts related to recruitment. However, he clarified that this activity does not stem from a single, concrete organization, but rather from various currents of people who often lack permanent structures. Despite this ambiguity, Henrichmann warned about the rapid potential for localized networks to form quickly for the purpose of planning assaults, a risk highlighted by the current situation. Therefore, he stressed that it is crucial for Germany to proactively get ahead of the development of such threats.
