CDU CSU Edge Ahead Of AfD In Forsa Survey

The Forsa survey for RTL and ntv shows the Union (CDU/CSU) still slightly ahead of the AfD, with 26 % of respondents backing the Union compared to 25 % for the AfD.

The Greens hold a 15 % share, maintaining a lead over the SPD, which sits at 12 %. The Left remains at 10 %, the BSW at 3 %, and all other parties together receive 9 %-figures unchanged from the previous week.

Non‑voters and undecided voters together make up 24 % of respondents, a figure that stays above the 17.9 % share of non‑voters recorded in the last federal election.

When asked about which party would best handle Germany’s problems, 17 % of Germans place their trust in the Union – a slight decline of one percentage point. The AfD follows at 12 %, down by one point; the Greens are seen as capable by 7 % (a drop of one), the SPD by 4 %, and the Left by 3 %. A majority-54 %-believe that none of the parties are equipped to solve the country’s problems most effectively.

Regarding Chancellor Friedrich Merz, only 23 % of citizens are satisfied with his performance, while 75 % express dissatisfaction. This represents a two‑point drop from the previous week and is the lowest approval rating recorded so far this year. Even within his own ranks, 37 % of Union supporters are dissatisfied with Merz’s work.

The poll surveyed 2,504 individuals from March 24 to March 30.
