Following the attack on Berlin’s power grid in September 2025, the police conducted city‑wide searches on Tuesday morning. According to “Bild”, fifteen separate searches were carried out, with the goal of locating evidence. There were no arrests or detention orders issued.
The arson attack on September 9 involved setting fire to two power pylons. The resulting blackout affected tens of thousands of households and businesses, especially in the Adlershof technology park. In connection with the incident, a manifesto was published on the left‑extremist online platform “Indymedia”.
A later, larger incident occurred on January 3 2026, when another arson attack caused a four‑day power outage for 45 000 households and over 2 200 businesses in south‑western Berlin. A statement was released in the name of a left‑extremist volcanic group. The link between the two attacks remains unclear.
